Liberate from pain - engelskspråklig selvhjelpsprogram for leddsmerter
The Bone and Joint Decade er er blant utviklerne av et selvhjelpskonsept for mennesker rammet av leddsmerter. Kompetansenettverket Muskel og Skjelett Tiåret (MST) er den norske delen av The Bone and Joint Decade.
The Bone and Joint Decade (BJD) har utarbeidet et selvhjelpsprogram for mennesker som lever med leddsmerter. Programmet gir praktiske råd og anbefalinger om hvordan egenbehandle og leve med leddsmerter. Programmet består av seks brosjyrer som kan lastes ned fra nettstedet www.liberatefrompain.com

Programmet finnes foreløpig kun på engelsk, og følgende brosjyrer kan lastes ned:
1. The power of keeping active: to encourage regular physical activity and exercise.
2. Eating for health: to encourage healthy eating and maintaining a healthy weight.
3. Taking charge of your pain: to improve overall well-being through coping strategies that offer both emotional and physical benefits and enable people to take control of their joint pain.
4. Pain-relieving medications – know your options: to ensure people with joint pain are armedwith the information necessary to make decisions about when and which pain-relieving medication to use.
5. Other approaches you can try to help manage your joint pain: to offer information on other available approaches, such as complementary therapies, ensuring that people with joint pain have access to a comprehensive package of information.
6. Practical changes to make everyday life easier: to provide practical tips and guidance on tools and equipment available to make everyday life easier for people with joint pain.
